I am so ready to be home!!! Another mom said having a baby in the NICU is like Groundhog's day.  This is very true.  I do the same thing every day.  I hardly know what day of the week it is.

We have a new neonatologist this week.  The doctors do rotations anywhere from one to three weeks.  The doctor we had the last two weeks wasn’t my favorite.  The doctor we have this week and next I really like.  He is 75 years old and super kind.  He told me on Sunday that this is the “frustrating stage.”  He said she is looking more like a normal baby so it makes you anxious to go home.  This is so true!!  I also think that because the end is closer it is making me more anxious to go home.  We are working on eating.  She still has about 1-3 of the A&Bs (not breathing) a day.  We have to go 7 days without one in order to go home.  We started giving her one bottle per shift on Sunday.  She is doing really well with the bottles.  The only one she hasn’t finished was during the night shift last night.  She drank about half and then fell asleep.  She weighed 3 lbs 15 oz last night.

 After her 1st eye exam

 1st Bath.  She loved it.
 1st Bottle
Happy Father's Day.  1st Family Picture

I can't even tell you how much he loves her.
 Checking her out.
 Mack's 1st time holding her.
Chloe's 1st time holding Hannah

  1. Oh Emily and Adam I am so glad she is doing so well. I truly feel for you at this stage, it seems to drag on forever:) I love that your kids get to hold her. Our kids didn't get to hold Aleigha until she came home.

  3. So excited to see more pics. I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it to see you last weekend. We ended up not coming until Sunday morning and then after the Mission farewell we had a BBQ with my family and then Eloy and I flew out of Salt Lake to pick up a Truck in New Jersey. I would just love to have seen you and little Hannah. She is truly a little miracle. Sure hope to see you home real soon!

  5. Hang in there Emily!! You are getting SO CLOSE!! Taking baths, eating bottles and fewer As and Bs are such progress. :) Lauren wasn't quite 5 pounds when she came home. It feels like you'll never go home, but then one day they come to you and say, "I think she might be ready to go home in a few days." You won't believe it but it will make all this trouble totally worth it! She's looking great and we can't wait for your family to all be home together. Hugs!
